background

Siobhán is a CIAT chartered technologist who worked and trained within the design team for sheltered housing developers McCarthy and Stone for 5 years before joining gcp in 2008. Siobhán now leads multiple teams at gcp within the housing sector, focused on delivering excellence from Stage 4 onwards. Siobhán’s technical knowledge and rigorous approach to detailed design are major contributors to gcp’s establishment as leading housing delivery architects.

Siobhán has taken responsibility for developing technical drawing and BIM standards within gcp and is responsible for coordinating CPD events, as well as ensuring the team are kept up to date with Health and Safety matters and emerging office protocols. Siobhán has recently completed her training to become a Domestic SAP and Energy Assessor, joining the gcp Consulting team. This will enable her to support both in-house and external projects.

Siobhán is currently undertaking a BRE Global ISO 19650-2:2018 qualification in Information Management to support gcp’s move towards BIM.

experience

Siobhán works primarily within the technical team of gcp Architecture, predominantly within the Housing sector, and has obtained an in-depth understanding of Design Standards, Regulations and the importance of how these interact with client requirements.

Siobhán has extensive experience of working at technical design stage on a range of complex projects, preparing technical Planning submissions, Building Regulation packages and coordinated Construction Stage information.

Siobhan’s experience includes working closely with contractors on Design-Build contracts and she brings a detailed understanding of the needs of contractors to her work. This has included working onsite in a Design Coordinator role as a part of the contractor’s team on a complex housing project in Bath.
