PAS 2035
All publicly funded projects for retrofitting dwellings for improved energy efficiency are required to use the PAS 2035 standard.
gcp are experienced PAS 2035 designers having worked on one of the sixteen Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Demonstrator Projects (pilot projects for the standard). This has led to work on a variety of housing stock for a growing range of clients. We have completed a number of SHDF Wave 1 schemes and are now others funded through Wave 2.1 of the SHDF.
Working with a trusted team of consultants, we are able to provide full consultancy services for PAS 2035 projects as well as our core designer role including: Retrofit Assessments, Retrofit Coordination, Air testing, & Thermal Bridge Calculations.
This enables us to provide a fully coordinated service to clients, successfully delivering PAS 2035 retrofit projects ranging from bungalows to high rise blocks of flats.
Our PAS 2035 experience covers a wide range of property types from traditional bungalows, low- and high-rise blocks of flats through to bespoke system build. We are familiar with the intricacies and issues specific to each type.
Measures applied to retrofit projects vary greatly. Deep retrofit can include:
External Wall Insulation (EWI) – we have worked with many of the common systems
Cavity wall insulation – consideration is key when installing EWI to avoid thermal bypass
Windows & door replacements – best done at the same time as EWI
Floor insulation – including minimal disruption methods such as Q-Bot
Roof insulation – we carry out thermal bridge calculations to eliminate weak spots, e.g. at eaves
Renewables - such as ASHP, MVHR & solar PV
With over a decade’s experience on high-rise projects, we are well placed to advise clients on the best options to overcome tricky issues including:
Fire safety, the Building Safety Act and Regulation 7
Cold bridge prevention
