background
Hazel is a CIAT Chartered Architectural Technologist whos career began in South Africa and expanded to parts of East Africa. In her previous employment of six years with GAPP Architects & Urban Designers, a long standing and leading architectural firm in South Africa, Hazel worked primarily within the hospitality sector, leading projects for luxury safari brands such as Singita and Helios Lodges Company Ltd.
In 2022, following 10 year’s of experience and with the intention to build her career in a new construction industry, Hazel moved to the UK and joined gcp. Here her role involves supporting projects at tender and construction stages, managing project delivery, and assisting with coordination across project teams.
Whilst working for gcp, Hazel has qualified as a Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT) with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

With a broad range of knowledge, Hazel can contribute to architectural, urban and landscape design projects. Hazel has experience in all stages of an architectural project including and not limited to concept initiation, design development, construction documentation, site supervision and project management.
More recently, Hazel has focused on the delivery of housing developments with particularly stringent deadlines, where precise and rigourous coordination across the project team is vital to meet client targets.
Hazel has completed an APS Accredited Principal Designer Course, allowing her to support all projects under the current CDM2015 Regulations. Going forward, Hazel plans to focus on the environmental design of buildings with the aim of becoming a Certified Passivhaus Designer.
