Development of 112 homes and 6,000 sq.ft of commercial space at a former industrial site in Bristol. gcp was approached by developer Acorn to prepare detailed design and construction information for the development of 115 homes and 6,000sq.ft of commercial space on this former industrial land. The complex urban site had a detailed planning approval with a significant number of conditions. gcp was commissioned to optimise the design and resolve planning conditions prior to works being tendered. As part of the tender, gcp was novated as consultant to the Design-Build contractor and took responsibility for ensuring that the delivered scheme met the client’s expectations and complied with the numerous planning condition requirements. The quality of the end development was recognised through multiple awards.
